DocWay - The Missing Link between SharePoint and Documentum

DocWay Pharma Portal

The DocWay Pharma Portal components can be applied to multiple processes within the Life Sciences industry. The following examples show possible ways to develop portal screens to assist in the investigator-initiated trials area. Customized implementation of DocWay Pharma Portal address management, internal field representatives, and investigators/key opinion leaders.

This Home Page for executives provides an overview of active studies and publications as well as alerts to upcoming deliverables. This information can be presented as an executive dashboard, rolling up existing statistics and linking to internal and external information sources.

Internal Field Representatives

Many organizations interface with key opinion leaders and investigators through internal field representatives. These representatives are sometimes referred to as Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs). In most cases, internal employees are mobile and require easy access to corporate information. The portal provides the perfect medium for bi-directional information exchange.

This example Home Page allows MSLs to view proposal statuses and investigator information, and to manage their schedules. Based on the MSL's preferences, DoWay Pharma Portal provides alerts for upcoming deliverables as well as information on future critical events. This screen also allows the MSL to access helpful internal tools and templates critical to their success.

External Partners

External partners are critical to the success of all Life Sciences organizations. These partners come in the form of suppliers, consultants, key opinion leaders, and investigators. Although these partners are outside of the organization, they play a critical part in its internal success. Their timely and accurate response can influence the overall success of your product. In the following example, the investigator initiates a request to conduct a clinical study for the purpose of creation of marketing material. The timely completion of this study can result in positive marketing information for the sponsor.

The Investigator Home Page provides investigators with an overview of the milestones for their proposals, studies, and publications. The screen offers alerts that notify investigators of any news affecting them or their studies. It also provides information on future Medical Congresses. Investigators can use this screen to email their MSL or to access helpful tools and templates.

Proposal Submissions

Various proposals are submitted from external partners in support of R&D, Sales and Marketing, and other critical processes. The following example details a submission process that captures proposal information for initial submission.

Figure 4 - Contact Information Submission Page

The Contact Information submission page can be completed by internal or external users and sent to the sponsor electronically. All information can be stored for future review and reference. Once completed, the entire packet can be submitted for review through the portal.

Figure 5 - Study Information Submission Page

The Study Information tab contains details about the study timeline and its design.

Figure 6 - Documentation Submission Page

The Documentation tab contains Yes/No/Not Applicable picklists that can be supplemented with comments about study-related discussions that have taken place between the MSL and the investigator.

Figure 7 - Facilities/Staff Submission Page

The Facilities/Staff tab contains Yes/No/Not Applicable picklists that can be supplemented with comments about the investigator's staff and facility. Once stored, this information can be accessed through the portal to determine the suitability of each facility.

Figure 8 - MSL Assessment Submission Page

The MSL Assessment tab allows the Medical Science Liaison to give a personal evaluation of the suitability of the proposal for an investigator-initiated trial.
